Hello. this might help: goto your system info, click on tools tab, then clik system file verification tool and run it [on 98se its called system file checker], i have somehow turned my Nero showtime into Nero showtime 2 by running the verification tool! and my sys boots WAY quicker and runs WAY faster, just a nickles worth of free advice ;P
